So this week was as crazy! We spent all day Wednesday in Baton Rouge
and New Orleans, Friday we were in Metairie and New Orleans, and then
Saturday we were in West Bank.....all for meetings. But I wouldn't
change it for the world. It was really hard in our meeting on
Wednesday because it was our last leadership meeting with President
Wall before he goes home. How he decided to end that meeting was
really cool. We did a scripture study and so each of us in that
meeting shared a scripture that meant a lot to us and why. It was
super powerful. Well after the meeting was done some of us
missionaries had President Wall sign our copies of the Book of Mormon.
I know that is one thing that I am going to cherish for the rest of my
life. President and Sister Wall mean so much to me because they have
done so much for me. They have helped me in ways that y'all couldn't
because you aren't here to experience the things that I have gone
through with me. They are so awesome. You should hunt them down when
they get home, because they are truly that awesome.
So something that I want to share with you that I read about today
while reading President Monson's talk Love-the Essence of the Gospel.
One thing that it talks about is how we need to be careful not shoot
down someones confidence by what we say and do. It's the thought we
need to bring each other up not shoot us down. I realized though the
times that we think that someone is being too sensitive, that is when
pride is growing within us. We start thinking that we are higher then
another and what others think doesn't. I have thought a lot about Matt
25:41, when we say harsh things or shoot someones confidence down, we
are shooting Christ down. Which in doing so takes us further away from
the Lord and being the type of person we need to be in entering God's
kingdom. In a talk yesterday a guy related being clean to walking into
the house with muddy feet. When we enter God's kingdom we won't be
able to walk through. It was really cool.
Well those are my thoughts and insights for this week.
Love y'all and hope you have an awesome week.

Hot and Humid in Houma - June 2
So I am now in Houma...aka Bayou Country. I love it the ward down here
is great. I got to go to my first PEC while being out on my mission.
One of the elders was kind of surprised to hear that I have been out
for 10 months and that was my first PEC and the stake president was
there.
Just a brief bio on my new companion, Sis Wheeler. She is from Idaho,
she is my age and she goes home at the end of the transfer, which
means that I will be staying because there will be only two sisters in
the entire mission that will know this area to some degree. So I
better pay attention to how things are done.
Anyways, I do love it here. The ward is very involved in missionary
work. It is funny though because of the four elders serving in the
ward here, I have served with three of them. All of which where while
I was in Covington and they were in Mandeville. I guess the Lord has
something that I need to learn from all three of them at the same
time. But I also see it as a blessing because then I can create a
tight bond of unity between all of us, I just have to get to know the
fourth elder a bit, which I don't see as a problem because of how much
we work with the elders here and try and communicate everything that
is going on with members and some of the investigators that we share.
Like with one set of the elders they are teaching this family and the
wife has asked us to teach her so that way she can get the female
perspective of the church and what it means. Which we are perfectly
fine with, we just have to go by what the elders have planned for
them.
Well that is all for this week. Not much is going on because I have
been here less then a week, well besides from Thursday to Saturday we
biked at least once everyday. I am just happy that I am not dead yet
because it is a lot hotter and more humid in the bayou then anywhere
else.
Well y'all have a good week.
