So this week was crazy. Friday we took a 150 mile drive to get to our
ZTM, and then this next week we get to make that drive again for
Specialized Training....we are going to die this month with miles.
This last week we did a lot. We met a lot of less active members and
got to talk to some of the members we weren't really close to. Oh and
we found an new investigator. It was awesome. We were going through
our areabook and looking at the Potential Investigator form. Well we
saw one that was close by to where we were. I was thinking that we
weren't going to be able to get in because it was a guy and Saturday
afternoon so no woman would be home. Well we get to the door and this
old lady sees us and we tell her that we are missionaries for our
church. Well she begins to tell us that some other ladies came by
earlier and left some stuff. We ask her what they left and so she
shows us the Watch Tower. We tell her that we belong to a different
church, and ask if we could tell her about it. She lets us in and we
begin to teach the Restoration. It was awesome because at one point
Sister Pearson asks her what it would mean to her if these things were
true. She looked at us and told us that it would mean a whole lot. We
then gave her a Book of Mormon and invited her to read from it and she
said that she would. We are planning on going back sometime later this
week. Gah we found someone in this area that pretty much everywhere
has been tracked and talked to. But we did it. The elders are even
excited about it.
But ya things are going good. It has been crazy though because we got
anti-ed, and it was in the most loving way. So to explain this we went
and tried a family that the previous sisters had been working with,
and we ask them what they were talking about last time. The husband
tells us what they talked about with the Plan of Salvation, and asks
us to answer any questions he has and we do. Apparently the other
sisters told him that him and his family basically won't be going to
heaven (well that is what he understood it as). He then pulls out
Galatians 1:6-10. Ya, once he shared that it was a slap in the face
and there was no getting the Spirit back, so now we have to figure out
how to teach the Plan of Salvation in a way that he will understand
because he did not understand it at all when the other sisters taught
it.
Oh and we got to teach the Sunbeams again yesterday, and we are in
charge of Sharing Time next week.....have I ever mentioned just how
much I love Primary and being in a ward that is so small that we are
the only ones that can teach Primary most Sundays? But ya now here is
a plethora of pictures that I have taken in the last two weeks.
Love y'all

So two weeks ago we went to the Cemetery (because here they display
their crazies and it is actually kind of cool to see because it is so
old.) This one makes us laugh. It is in the Catholic section of the cemetery
and it says pray for us at the bottom.
So this is one of the weird graves. So this one is the daughter of a Plantation owner. Well when the daughter died the mom went crazy. She
would go in every night and read stories to her dead daughter. The
daughter when she was alive was afraid of thunder and so whenever
there was a thunderstorm the mom would go down in her daughters grave
and rock her dead daughter like she did when she was alive. And that
is Sister Pearson and Elder Taylor down in it,...I refused to because
I would die going down the steps to get in because they were old and
steep and well we know just how well gravity and I get along in
situations like that.
So this is last weeks. We went to the Indian mounds. It was a lot of
fun. It is apparently where they made sacrifices and the mound that I
was standing on once upon a time had a temple on it. (any bets that it
was a Nephite temple?)

So I am in a totally new area and zone. I am in Vidalia, Louisiana.
For those of you that don't know where that is (I didn't know until we
got here) it is on the border of the Mississippi and Louisiana. Half
of the ward, actually about 80% if the ward lives in Natchez,
Mississippi and the other half lives in Vidalia. Pretty much everyone
that lives on our side of the river isn't active. The adventure of
this all is that my companion and I were just brought into the area,
aka we white washed there area/doubled in. It has been crazy trying to
figure things out. Oh and guess what there is only us and a set of
elders. It is really pretty here though. Oh and guess what my
companion and I somewhat know each other. We actually became friends
on facebook before the mission.
This ward is small...like about the size of jr primary small. I got to
sub in sunbeams yesterday and Sis Pearson and I were on cloud nine.
Primary is pretty much as big as Ashton and Avery's Sunday school
classes. Ya back to the ward size they only have two active deacons
and the elders are the ones that bless the sacrament. Ya I am
definitely not in New Orleans anymore. Anyways things have been good,
we have been meeting more people and making more friends in this ward
that is the size of a branch.
Anyways y'all have fun and be good. Love y'all

One transfer companion - Aug 19
So ever since I left Covington I haven't had a companion for more then
a transfer. In other words I am getting transferred....sadly this one
is a much needed one. Not because of the area but because my companion
and I just couldn't figure out how to work together even though we are
so much a like. It has almost felt like we weren't suppose to be
companions. My dream right now is to open Thibodaux to sisters. This
ward is big enough that it needs two sets of sisters. We can barely
cover Houma and Cut Off, so anything north of Gray pretty much is
ignored by us. Which is sad because there are a lot of single sisters
that could use a visit, and unfortunately the elders can't do that.
Anyways this week has been a crazy one. Pretty much all the days are
blending together more so then normal.
Well sorry this one is going to be short I am trying to figure stuff
out for today and email at the same time.
